Having Deanna, as a Christian counsellor has been life-changing.
After each session, I always felt heard, and less burdened. Deanna does a great job of creating a safe space to be vulnerable and honest. Holy spirit leads her to ask thought-provoking questions with a gentle kindness that brings forth breakthroughs and healing. As a young child to young adult I had no problem with being myself. However, after getting married I began to lose myself. I discovered that I lost who I was. I struggled so hard to be ' me'. I remembered saying to myself ( after my divorce) I will NEVER get into another relationship unless I get counseling. This was where Pastor Deanna came in. After multiple sessions with her, which were insightful, practical,and very honest. I was able to rid myself of what held me in that mindset that I couldn't be my ' authentic self'. The key words were:
What would happen if you allowed people to see the real you?
What does it matter if they like you or not?
How can people really get to know you if you don't allow them?
Can you hold people responsible for knowledge that they didn't have?
This was the path to my journey of healing and restoration of the ' me' that God has created. It also freed me to be better at communicating ( bonus)
